A real Andean descendent who comes from a Cusco family who truly love horses and I am married with Karina from the Netherlands. I grew up with horses and it's my passion to work with them. I am also an official tour guide and I like to work with turists from all countries, showing them around in my country Peru and explaining them everything about the history. My riding activities in the Sacred Valley were soon discovered, and our hacienda began to appear in guidebooks and on the lists of highly recommended equestrian tour operators. The riding expeditions high in the Andes are exceptional with my team.

Route details

Day 1
Ride to Misminay

09:00 Our team is waiting for you at our hacienda in Paucarbamba to provide you with important information about recommendations and restrictions for the ride.

10:00 We start to explore ancient paths that have been preserved over time, at an elevation of 2,800 meters above sea level. These paths lead to forgotten places, such as the suspension bridge of Paucarbamba, which we cross on horseback. We continue through a forest of eucalyptus trees and discover one of the largest Inca cemeteries in the Sacred Valley, located on the valley floor.
After passing through the town of Yanahuara, we reach the Tarabamba suspension bridge, which marks our entrance to the Salinas de Maras. The ascent to the salt flats is challenging due to its rocky, narrow and steep nature. However, we take it slow and steady until we reach the salt complex. Here, we dismount and take a guided walk to learn more about this fascinating place.

12:00 Guided tour.

12:30 We ride uphill and then we reach the fantastic Andean town of Maras. Here we enjoy our first lunch with a view of the Chicón and San Juán snow-capped mountains.

13:30 Lunch in Maras.

14:30 We ride along a beautiful bridle path that leads us to the center of “Misminay”, where the hosts greet us in the ancestral style of their folklore.

16:30 Arrival in Misminay and welcome ceremony.

18:30 Dinner and overnight.

Meals included: lunch and dinner.
Overnight: in Misminay.
