A real Andean descendent who comes from a Cusco family who truly love horses and I am married with Karina from the Netherlands. I grew up with horses and it's my passion to work with them. I am also an official tour guide and I like to work with turists from all countries, showing them around in my country Peru and explaining them everything about the history. My riding activities in the Sacred Valley were soon discovered, and our hacienda began to appear in guidebooks and on the lists of highly recommended equestrian tour operators. The riding expeditions high in the Andes are exceptional with my team.

Route details

Day 1
Ride to Misminay

09:00 Our team is ready to welcome you at our hacienda. Before starting the ride, you have the chance to meet our staff and get acquainted with the horses. An experienced guide teaches you the proper technique for riding this specific breed of horse and provide you with important information and tips to ensure a successful and enjoyable journey.

10:00 Our journey starts at the base of the valley, where we pass by one of the largest Inka cemeteries in the Valley in the southern part of Yanahurara. We go through the circuit of beaches of the Vilcanota River and then arrive at the sector of Tarabamba, where we cross the bridge of the same name in order to enter the Pichingoto sector and make our entrance to the Salinas de Maras checkpoint.

12:00 We arrive at the salt complex and dismount to visit the salt flats on foot, in whose circuit we are guided by a guide.

12:30 Restarting the ride, we continue going up the hill passing through the heart of the salt complex, its 3 storage warehouses, the parking lot for the vehicles that bring the usual tourists. After touring some white corn agricultural fields, we  begin to ascend by riding up the hill and leaving the Vilcanota Valley behind. Fantastic panoramic views towards the snowy peaks accompany us until we reach the first peak where the district of Maras is located, where we have a good lunch.

13:30 Lunch.

14:30 Our journey resumes by taking a sudden route towards the second peak, where the picturesque indigenous community of “Misminay” is located, this place is famous due to its incomparable location from where you can enjoy the sunset and great part of the Sacred Valley of the Inkas.

17:00 We arrive at this community, have a friendly and colorful welcome ceremony and then we learn a little about their way of life.

18:00 Dinner and rest in a rural house.

Meals included: lunch and dinner.
Overnight: in Misminay.
