A real Andean descendent who comes from a Cusco family who truly love horses and I am married with Karina from the Netherlands. I grew up with horses and it's my passion to work with them. I am also an official tour guide and I like to work with turists from all countries, showing them around in my country Peru and explaining them everything about the history. My riding activities in the Sacred Valley were soon discovered, and our hacienda began to appear in guidebooks and on the lists of highly recommended equestrian tour operators. The riding expeditions high in the Andes are exceptional with my team.

Route details

Day 1
Ride to Huaypo Lake

9:00 Our team is ready to welcome you at our hacienda. Before starting the ride, you have the chance to meet our staff and get acquainted with the horses. An experienced guide teaches you the proper technique for riding this specific breed of horse and provide you with important information and tips to ensure a successful and enjoyable journey.

10:00 Our journey starts at the base of the valley, where we ride through lush forests filled with different types of native and exotic flora, such as Llaulli, Tara, Chachacomo, Tánkar, Queuña, Eucalyptus, Cypress and Pine. As we ride alongside the Vilcanota River and pass by fields of white corn agriculture, we gradually ascend towards the Salinas de Maras. Here, we pause to explore the ancient salt complex that predates the Inka civilization.

12:00 Arrival at the Salinas and walk.

12:30 Our journey resumes by taking a sudden route towards the second peak, where we find the charming town of Marasand its vast fields of Andean potato cultivation.

13:00 Lunch in Maras.

14:00 Once we conquer the most challenging part of this route, we are rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding natural landscape. From this point, we can witness the majestic sunset and behold the magnificent Sacred Valley of the Incas, adorned with its snowy mountain peaks.

17:00 We reach the enchanting Huaypo Lake. It is here that we stay for the night, in a set of beautiful domes that offer stunning views of the serene lagoon.

18:30 Dinner and overnight.

Meals included: lunch and dinner.
