Route details

Arrive after 16:00 and settle into the guesthouse. Enjoy a walk along the nearby beach or meet the horses in the pasture.

Dinner at Låven Restaurant introduces you to local Norwegian cuisine, followed by a midnight sun horseback ride through the surrounding landscape. You will also learn about the history of Hov Gård and its Viking heritage.

You will stay mainly at Hov Gjestegård, a comfortable guesthouse at Hov Gård, offering double or twin rooms, shared bathrooms, and cozy communal areas.

One night is spent in a fully prepared tent camp by the sea on Storemolla, where you sleep in shared tents equipped with sleeping bags. Facilities such as toilets and showers are available nearby at the farm.

This combination provides both comfort and a unique outdoor experience close to nature.

Although our Icelandic horses are strong, we have a weight limit of 95kg for both short trips and for longer trips.

On longer tours, the weight limit may depend on your riding skills and experience.

Excellent tour guide and an unforgettable experience! Went on the Lofoten by horse. We had engaging conversations along the way and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the area and the horses.

During our visit to the Lofoten Islands, we embarked on a Viking trek adventure. While some of us hadn't ridden for a few years, the younger members of our group were quite experienced. Our trek leader was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the Icelandic ponies we rode. Icelandic ponies proved to be exceptionally sure-footed, and it was fascinating to learn about their unique gait, the tolt. We all thoroughly enjoyed our ride. Fortunately, the weather cooperated, but the riding center offers suitable waterproof clothing if needed. We highly recommend visiting this place, with a special mention to the restaurant which served amazing food. Thank you from the Scottish girls for a memorable experience.

The view from the camping site was absolutely breathtaking, and the beach was simply picturesque! We highly recommend booking the sauna in advance. Despite the rainy weather we encountered, the location more than made up for it.
