Hacienda to Hacienda Ride

Enjoy breakfast before gathering and assigning the horses.

Afterward, the horses will be loaded onto the trailer for a 30-minute journey to Sabindas Ranch, a 1200-hectare cattle ranch. Here, you can ride along the trails that wind through the ranch and around the Sabindas dam, offering views of majestic oaks and rocky formations. This semi-arid landscape is filled with cacti, Nopales, Garanbuyos, and Desert Palms.

Enjoy a leisurely lunch at the ranch with the team, who will prepare a Discada Vaquera—a meal cooked on an iron disc over an open fire. Sip on a cold beer and good tequila while listening to local Mexican music provided by the guides before loading the horses back onto the trailer for the return trip to the Estancia for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Enjoy breakfast at the Hacienda before saddling up for a ride along the historic Camino Real (Royal Way) road. This trail has a rich history as the primary transport route for people and goods, particularly silver, and is often called the Silver Road.

Stop by the abandoned Hacienda Cieneguilla for a break before proceeding on a section of the trail ideal for cantering.

Arrive at the village of Primero de Mayo, then continue towards Hacienda San Nicolas, which features beautiful gardens and its own private bullring. Take a moment to rest before riding along the canal and passing through Primero de Mayo again, with more chances for fast riding.

Head toward Hacienda La Puerta del Coche, a cozy hotel with spacious accommodations. Enjoy lunch at the restaurant, followed by a free afternoon and evening. Dinner will also be served at the restaurant.

The horses will be saddled up and prepared for the group to ride towards Hacienda Puerta del Cochean. As the trail ascends into the hills, the landscape shifts. Here, riders can assist the cowboys with their daily tasks, such as checking, herding, and moving the cattle during cattle drives.

Occasionally, the visit may involve helping with branding and vaccinating the cattle. It's an enjoyable yet active morning in the mountains.

Afterward, ride back to Hacienda Puerta del Coche for lunch and some relaxation before dinner. Spend the night in a suite at Puerta del Coche.

You'll pass by the Hacienda Santa Rita and expansive dairy farms while following a trail ideal for cantering. After crossing the Lagos River, continue along a scenic path that leads you past the village of Jaralito.

Upon reaching the Hacienda San Rafael, you'll be welcomed by Rafael, Maria, and their family. Enjoy lunch and spend the afternoon unwinding at the Hacienda or hiking to the reservoir.

A light dinner is served at 8:30, providing a perfect conclusion to the day. Overnight accommodations are at Hacienda San Rafael.

Enjoy breakfast at the hacienda. The horses will be prepared for the initial segment of the ride to Hacienda San José de los Ranchos and then on to the village of El Refugio.

The path from this point is ideal for cantering until you arrive at Hacienda El Maguey, where the group will take a brief pause before returning to Hacienda San Rafael for lunch.

The remainder of the day is free for leisure activities until dinner. You will spend the night at Hacienda San Rafael.

After breakfast, get the luggage packed and ready for transfer. Set off on horseback, passing through the village of El Refugio before joining the Camino Real (Royal Highway), where you'll see corn and alfalfa fields.

Continue past the village of El Ojuelo, and after a few canters, arrive at Hacienda La Galera for a brief break and a visit if time permits. Ride alongside the canal and reservoir for approximately three hours until you reach the La Herencia Equestrian Center. There, trainer and horse whisperer Eugenio will demonstrate natural horsemanship techniques to the group. Spend some time in the arena practicing team roping with cattle and possibly even barrel racing.

After enjoying a 'cowboy lunch' with cold beer, good tequila, and local music, saddle up and make your way to our Hotel Spa Hacienda for dinner at the Mamalena Restaurant and an overnight stay.

Following a lavish breakfast, prepare for a ride to Hacienda San Cayetano, which takes about 1.5 hours along a scenic rural road. The group will then proceed to the 'Canyon of the Alcazar,' embarking on a cross-country journey that involves significant elevation changes in the hilly terrain.

After riding the property’s pastures and trails, you will reach the Ranch (after 3 hours), where owners Pita and Juan will greet you with refreshments and snacks. A homemade lunch featuring family specialties will be served alongside local red wine, beer, or tequila.

After the meal, Juan will showcase the technique of using the Mexican close rein.

After a delightful afternoon spent with your hosts, you'll mount up again for a ride to our Hotel Spa Hacienda (1.5 hours), where guests can take advantage of the hotel's many amenities. You'll spend the night in a suite at the Hotel Spa Hacienda.
