Hacienda to Hacienda Ride

A tasty Mexican breakfast will be served. Saddle horses for today’s ride, we will ride 3.5 hrs. to Sabindas Ranch, this cattle ranch belongs to Ernesto and family with its 1200 hectares; we will be riding along the trails and paths of this ranch approx. 3 hours, visiting the Sabindas dam there is a path that surrounds the dam while we ride enjoy a nice view of the oaks and rocky formations, this semiarid property has lots of Cactus, Nopales, Garanbuyos and Desert Palms, this is a Cross Country trail for good riders because of its rocky trails, with nice landscape. 

Lunch in the Ranch with another riders, cowboys, horseman and the Family, we will eat a delicious Pork “Carnitas” or Discada Vaquera: you have to make your self the tacos and try a good salsa, we will have for you cold beer and off course a very good Tequila; will have a good time when Lupe, one of our guides plays the guitar signing his songs and Mexican popular music. In the afternoon, ride back to Hacienda Tlalixcoyan where we will see a nice sunset and we will even arrive at the Hacienda just after dark. A very good dinner will be served and it will be a good time for a good talk and another after dinner moment with some drinks available.

Overnight: Hacienda Tlalixcoyan

Breakfast in the Hacienda Tlalixcoyan. Saddle horses for today’s ride, we are going to ride next to the irrigation canal of the dam of Cuarenta, during the tour we will have the opportunity to gallop and enjoy the sunny day, we will continue riding along the muleteer trails seeing the alfalfa and corn fields. 

After 2 hrs. we will arrive to the village of San Miguel del Cuarenta, continue riding in a wooded path next to Lagos river, we will arrive to La Soledad Casa Rural, will have a superb lunch in this Rural House, order from the menu at your delight, this unique and charming place and will offer the best of its food and attention. After lunch we can try a refreshing digestive call Carajillos. We will ride 2.5 hrs towards Hacienda La Puerta del Coche, a nice Hotel with a spacious and comfortable rooms. Check in, your room will be assigned, free evening so you can enjoy in the swimming pool, which has a very pleasant thermal water. Dinner in the restaurant and enjoy a pleasant time in the bar.

Overnight: Hotel La Puerta del Coche 

Breakfast in the restaurant. Horses will be saddle and ready, we will ride in the Ranch of la Puerta del Coche, helping the cowboys in their daily work; cattle drives and herding and some times if we are lucky, branding and vaccinating the cattle, nice ride visiting the 2 dams of the property, very special ride as doing the vaqueros (cowboys). 

Lunch in the restaurant of the hacienda. In the evening: hike in the trails, mountain bike or just relax in the pool with a good cocktail. Dinner in the restaurant.

Overnight: Hotel La Puerta del Coche

We will ride to a very nice Hacienda called Santa Rita passing besides a big and important dairy stable and the continue our ride towards Hacienda San Nicolas, continue the trail in the old road we will have the opportunity to visit this nice Hacienda, who has the particularity of having their own private Bullring in the state, stretch our legs and walk around. 

Continue the ride along de canal and passing by the village of Primero de Mayo, then cross the Lagos river and continue in trails with many trees and pleasant views enjoining the landscape, we will arrive to spectacular Hacienda La Estancia one of the largest in the region, we will be receive by Ernesto, the owner, and his family.

Lunch in the amazing dining room and very nice old antique Italian furniture the food you are going to try here is very authentic Mexican, made for foreigners not very spicy. After eating we will have a free evening, enjoy the swimming pool or just relax in the hacienda gardens. Light dinner will be served in the dining room around 8:30 PM. Lodging in the rooms of Hacienda La Estancia.

Homemade breakfast in the Hacienda, we leave our luggage ready and go to the horse stables to get to the horses; the first part of our trail we pass by the reservoir, we have plenty of shadow and some of opportunities to do some cantering, then we will be riding in the ancient silver road The Camino Real; some part of the old road has a wall of adobes in both sides and you will see the old brick bridges. We will pass a deserted hacienda “Cieneguilla” a beautiful sight for pictures.

Continue the ride we will pass nearby Hacienda La Labor de Padilla a very nice trail besides the Lagos River. After 3.5 hrs we will arrive to our Hotel, one of the best Hacienda Hotel in the region. Dinner in our restaurant with a good range of dishes to choose from.

A la carte breakfast in the Hacienda garden. The horses will be ready to ride to the Hacienda San Cayetano; we will ride 1.5 hrs. along a rural road, continue to The Canyon of the Alcazar, Cross country ride with lots of adventures ascending and then descending the hills riding through the Canyon, we will see the cows and bulls, nice and adventurous ride we will have today.

After riding through the pastures and cross-country trails of the property we will arrive to the Alcazar Ranch, 3.5 hrs. ride, where Pita and Juan, the owners of this Hacienda will receive us with a courtesy drink and snacks. The food offered at this ranch is homemade food with house specialties.
In the evening, after a snack with a good beer, red wine or Tequila, Pita will show us about the Equinotherapy, she has been doing this for the last 20 years, it’s interesting to know more about it; Juan will give us a demonstration of handling the horse with the charra rein.

Have a nice time with this friendly family listening to music and enjoying the atmosphere of this hacienda. Get back to the horses, so after 1:30 min riding arrive to our hotel.

Free evening to enjoy hotel facilities, Swimming pool, hot tub, the Bar, and after some days of horseback riding you can have a nice relaxing massage in the SPA. Special farewell dinner in the restaurant.

Breakfast in our Restaurant. Ride from our hotel towards the Equestrian Centre named “La Herencia”, 1:30 hrs,, in this place where Eugenio, a very well know horse trainer and horse whisper, will show us how its done the Natural Horsemanship. We will show our riders how to learn natural horsemanship, and the best part its you we will be able to ride in the arena and do team penning with the cattle, learn how to rope, and practice in the arena your riding skills, and why not learn more about horses and the Mexican style of riding, you can also do ranch sorting, a very nice experience.

We will have a Ranchero meal (Cowboy lunch), with a nice cold beer, Tequila, music and meet other riders and horse people who normally joying for having a great Mexican hospitality.

In the evening ride back to our hotel. We will drive to the Unesco World heritage the city of Lagos de Moreno, a beautiful colonial town, we will do a short tour in the downtown area. Drive back to our hotel. Dinner in the restaurant.

Breakfast in our Restaurant; you can enjoy the morning in the Hotel, then we transfer you to the airport.
