Begin your journey at the towering Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, a masterpiece of Rajput architecture. From here, travel to Mathania, where your spirited Marwari horses and desert camp await.

Ride through secluded tribal villages, where round thatched mud huts blend into the sandy landscape. Follow long, winding tracks that invite thrilling canters up sunlit dunes, each ascent rewarding you with breathtaking desert panoramas.

Spend nights in desert camps beneath a canopy of stars, awakening to the soft rustle of the Thar’s wildlife. Conclude your adventure in Khichan, where the sky fills with the wings of migrating Demoiselle Cranes, before returning to Jodhpur.

Route details

Arrive in Jodhpur and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, explore the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, standing 100 feet above a sheer cliff and rising 400 feet above Jodhpur’s skyline. Built from burnished red sandstone, it is one of India’s best-preserved forts—so imposing that Rudyard Kipling described it as “the work of giants.”
Afterwards, stroll through Jodhpur’s bustling market and the central clock tower area.

This trip was the highlight of my life. The horses were top-notch, and the route was absolutely stunning. Traveling solo, I felt well looked after from the moment I arrived in India. Dr. Ajeet's expertise made the experience truly unique, taking us through the forested National Park, dry river beds, deserts, farmlands, and rural villages - all home to breathtaking sights and encounters with local wildlife, including leopards. The horses brought joy everywhere we went. Accommodations were fantastic, offering both authenticity and luxury, while the food was simply delicious. I highly recommend this trip to anyone, and I'm more than happy to share my experience with anyone who may have doubts.
