About Horse Riding Tours
What is a horseback riding tour?
A horseback riding tour is an adventure experience that takes riders on horseback through scenic landscapes and trails. Riders will be accompanied by a guide throughout the tour, who will provide instruction and lead the way.
What should I wear?
You should wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit dusty or dirty. You can find more detailed information about the clothes that you need to wear on the tour page, or ask the tour operator directly.
Is there an age limit?
Though there is usually no upper age limit for riding holidays, more strenuous rides may require evidence of good health, such as a doctor's letter.
Is there a weight limit?
We prioritize the health and safety of both horses and riders. As such, weight restrictions are in place for each ride, depending on the size and build of the horses. You can find the exact weight limits in the ride descriptions, and we ask that guests adhere to them for the wellbeing of the horses. If any rider is found to be over the weight limit for their mount, the operator reserves the right to deny them the ride. To avoid this, please be truthful when booking.
What skill level is needed for riding?
Our tour pages provide detailed information about the skill requirements and difficulty of each tour we offer, ranging from beginner to experienced riders. If you have any questions, please reach out to us or the tour provider and we'll be more than happy to assist you in experiencing the exciting adventure of horseback riding!
Can I go alone?
These activity holidays are perfect for solo travelers looking for an adventure with other like-minded people. Our small groups create an atmosphere where you can get to know one another quickly.
How can I prepare for a horseback tour?
A great way to prepare for a tour is to take lessons near your home and combine them with trail riding and arena work. This will help you build your fitness and skills.
What sort of holiday insurance do I need?
Having insurance is critical and we will need all the necessary information about your insurance coverage before you leave. Ensure that the insurance policy you choose covers the riding activities you are taking part in, as additional fees may be required to add certain activities like polo or jumping to your policy. It is also crucial to check if your insurance requires you to wear a riding helmet. Your insurance should cover any medical costs, repatriation to your home country (if necessary), and pre-trip cancellation.
Can I take my children with me?
It depends on the tour. Please find out this information from the tour provider.
Yes, you can! We work with many destinations that are great for families, some of which even offer special riding programs designed specifically for children and young riders. Before booking, however, it's important to discuss the needs and requirements of your family, as not all our destinations will be ideal for children
What is included in the price of the tour?
In general, most of our riding packages include riding and accommodation as part of the package. Many also include certain types of board, such as bed and breakfast, half board, full board, or self-catered. Each ride itinerary will indicate what is included and excluded in the package. Some additional costs, such as transfers or tips, will need to be paid at the location and may sometimes be paid in advance. We will always let you know of any extra costs prior to booking so that you don't have any unexpected expenses when you arrive.
