Whales and Horses - Cloud Forest Adventure

Following a private breakfast meeting, you will become acquainted with your horses. After a briefing and evaluation of your riding abilities, you will be paired with your horse. 

This will be followed by a trial ride in the arena, leading to a breathtaking panoramic ride that showcases stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding mountains. The hacienda is situated approximately 750 meters above sea level, with the Pacific Ocean to our front and the cloud forest behind us.

We go to the hacienda's private waterfall. 

Following a pleasant ride across our estate and past herds of grazing cattle, we arrive at the stunning Zamora mountain river. 

We then hike along the riverbank, and after approximately 20 minutes, we arrive at a beautiful waterfall with a serene pool. Here, we can swim in tranquility and savor our packed lunch.

Today, we will explore Manuel Antonio, one of Costa Rica's most renowned national parks. 

Here, you will be amazed by the sight of sloths, monkeys, and a diverse array of birds and plants. 

Afterward, enjoy some leisure time on one of the Pacific coast's most stunning beaches. In the afternoon, we will check into our hotel in Uvita.

Following breakfast, we resume our whales watching tour, which kicks off at 8:30 a.m. 

Each year, humpback whales visit Bahia de Ballena to give birth to their calves, and with a bit of luck, we might even witness them breaching the surface. 

The return journey to the hacienda will take approximately 3.5 hours. We will make a stop at the luxurious 5-star Hotel Villa Caletas, where we can savor a cocktail while taking in the stunning sunset.

Simply unwind and take it easy... 

If you would like, you can embark on a horseback riding tour around the hacienda or take a ride to a stunning waterfall located about 4 km away in the village.

Following a hearty breakfast, we journey across the hacienda, traversing ancient forests, mountains, and valleys, surrounded by centuries-old trees and enjoying stunning vistas of the Gulf of Nicoya.

We venture into the enchanting cloud forest, home to elusive pumas, jaguars, and ocelots. But don’t worry; these creatures are quite shy and seldom seen. 

Our journey takes us to one of the region's most stunning fincas, where cattle are raised alongside the preservation of the cloud forest. After a brisk gallop through the lush meadows, we find ourselves immersed in the jungle, surrounded by vibrant epiphytes and orchids that create a fairytale-like atmosphere. 

We pause at a charming, rustic local restaurant, where tourism is minimal and the residents live simply yet warmly welcome visitors. Our adventure continues as we ride to a cozy cloud forest café, where we will spend the night.

After rising and tending to the horses, we enjoy a cozy breakfast featuring traditional Costa Rican Gallo Pinto before setting off for the cloud forest. 

The trip back to the hacienda now takes approximately two hours.

Breakfast, followed by lunch if time permits, and then departure.
