EquiYoga integrates self-awareness through poses (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation both on the mat and in the saddle, fostering a collaborative partnership with your horse. The program begins on the mat, establishing a foundation of breathwork and mastering asanas. This newfound understanding can enrich both your riding abilities and yoga practice alike.

Moving out of the arena and onto the trail, we will ride in stunning locations throughout the week, so you can utilize these concepts in real-life scenarios. You will begin to recognize your patterns and responses while riding, and you will be able to adjust to your surroundings. With a mixture of trail riding, EquiYoga classes, Yin Yoga sessions, chakra alignment, and horsemanship clinics, this week is less about the adventure and more about the journey.

Nestled in a mountain retreat, it is the destination for adventurous equestrians who are looking for more than a dude ranch operation but still want that western feel. Each day is a new adventure as we ride for five to six hours daily, exploring desert canyons, wading through river beds, climbing towering mountains, tracing the steps of cowboys, and looking out for ancient pottery shards. We will visit historical towns, where Spanish Conquistadors once rode through and Native Americans now sell their beautiful silver and turquoise jewelry. We want to show you the rich landscape, southwest culture, and unique cuisine that make New Mexico unforgettable!

Tour provider's comments

This trip is for yogis of all levels and intermediate or advanced riders only. Safety is our top priority. Unlike a typical nose-to-tail dude ranch, we offer equine adventures. Our horses are well-trained in trail riding skills and manners, but they are independent creatures. To fully enjoy your stay, we require riders to have an intermediate riding ability due to the challenging terrain and the length of our rides. Riders should be comfortable walking, posting trotting, and cantering strongly on trails within a group, and able to mount and dismount unassisted. Physical fitness is necessary to endure 3-4 hours of riding, covering 16-24 km each day.

Riding time per day: 3-4 hours.

Riding distance per day: 16-24 km.

Horse Breed: various breeds, mostly Quarter Horses and Paints.

Tack Type: Western or Australian Stock Saddles.

    about provider
This is the second time I’m spending a week holiday here and I’m never going back twice in the same place. So that pretty much says everything. Mel and Justyn are taking such a good care of their horses and know them perfectly. So they will be bale to see which one will be the best match for you. Spoiler alert: all the horses are lovely. All the rides were different with amazing landscape. We even got the chance to see wild horses on the last day! I had such a great time with Mel, Justyn and Karen. I almost forget to speak about the food! Don’t plan on a diet going there, the food is amazing with local ingredients.

I just spent five days and enjoyed myself immensely. Mel and Justyn put their heart and soul into this business and it really shows. I loved the food, atmosphere, friendliness of the staff, accommodations and overall feel of the ranch. All of the animals are well cared for and the horses were lovely. I had the pleasure of riding Cash. What a gem! It’s a warm, happy, comfortable, unpretentious place. Mel and Justyn are a class act. If I had to change anything, I would have liked a bit more time trotting and cantering our horses, but the trails and terrain we rode on were interesting and diverse. They took great care to make sure that all of their riders were safe and comfortable, and I feel that’s very important. Overall, a terrific experience.

Wow, what a trip! I just received all the pictures and videos Justyn took while riding, which prompted this review. Thank you to her and her team for one of my best vacations ever! It is real riding here, the rides were challenging at times (down the mountain was steep!!) but always enjoyable. I rode the same horse for 4 days and he was simply the best. The food was fantastic, we definitely worked up an appetite and the southwestern cuisine was just perfect. Creative, healthy and very relaxed meals with Justyn and her wranglers. Accommodations were very comfortable, nothing fancy, but super clean and everything you need. Honestly, if you love horses and want to see this part of the country in a unique way, you will be pinching yourself with some of the views and riding terrain. It was a 10 out 10 trip for all of us!
