Autumn on the prairie has its own kind of electricity: cool mornings, wide skies, cattle on the move, and the Rocky Mountains standing sharp in the distance. This fall cattle drive is a full week of real Western riding, where you join the work of moving cattle on horseback across the open country of the Blackfeet Reservation.
Each day starts with a hearty home-cooked breakfast before you ride out for roughly 5–6 hours in the saddle. The focus is simple and honest: help move cattle through big landscapes beneath the Front Range of the Rockies. Lunch is usually enjoyed out on the trail, and evenings bring everyone back to the ranch for a generous dinner after a full day’s work. Come hungry — the meals are part of the experience too.
At night, you stay in cozy ranch cabins, keeping the trip comfortable while still close to the rhythm of ranch life. Airport transfers are included, with arrival on Sunday and departure after breakfast on Saturday. If you want to feel what a working cattle drive is really like — the dust, the horses, the long views and the satisfaction of a day well spent — this is your week in Montana!
