Tour highlights
Route details
We start at 08:30 with a visit to a ranch where you will learn about traditional Mexican activities like making tortillas and sauces. You will also gather eggs for breakfast before heading to the Boca de la Cañada community for a horseback riding adventure.
After a brief introduction on riding, you will explore the canyon, crossing the river and taking in the flora and fauna. There will be opportunities to gallop, rest and explore the canyon, including searching for quartz in the river. You will reach the highest part of the canyon and have the option to rappel down the cliffs.
The tour also offers a midnight ride to a nearby village and the opportunity for more extreme riding through the darkness. This is optional and not recommended for those who are not comfortable, although it is considered safe due to the horses' night vision and the guides' familiarity with the trails.

- KKrystal22 Mar, 2024about providerAmazing!! The staff was super nice and made sure we felt safe and comfy during the ride. The horses were calm. Riding through downtown San Miguel was soooooo beautiful. And they even took us to this cliff for the BEST view of the city. It was totally incredible. I'd definitely recommend it.22 Mar, 2024
- BBmooney8714 Mar, 2024about providerThis was the MOST FUN trail ride we have ever been on! As folks who love horses, we had an awesome time. The staff was super friendly, and the horses were so well-behaved and looked after. The scenery from up high was stunning, and the homemade meal was way better than anything we could get in town. Seriously, if you're unsure about going on this trip, JUST DO IT! We even brought along some friends who'd never been on a horse, and they loved it too!14 Mar, 2024
- TTaylor2 Mar, 2024about providerI've been on a bunch of horseback rides before, but this one was hands down the best! I know my way around a saddle, but I brought along some family who are pretty new to riding. The horses were super well-behaved, and we all had a blast soaking in the stunning views of the canyon. Luckily, it was just us and the guides, so we got some personalized attention. June even snapped some awesome pics and videos for us! Plus, the lunch at the ranch was delicious with some killer views. Israel, our guide, was amazing. We learned a ton about the place! Overall, this was a top-notch experience. If you're ever in San Miguel, definitely book a trip with these guys!2 Mar, 2024
