Begin with a tour of Udaipur’s City Palace and some relaxed shopping. After lunch, drive to Narlai and meet your Marwari horses for a late afternoon trial ride to Jodha Stud Farm. Savor a home-cooked Rajasthani dinner in the magical stable complex before settling into Rawla Narlai, a restored 17th-century royal hunting lodge turned boutique hotel.

Begin the day with an early morning leopard-spotting adventure, watching these elusive cats in their natural habitat. After a hearty breakfast, ride onward to Jawai Bandh, a scenic reservoir at the heart of untamed wilderness. Here, rugged granite formations, ancient caves, and scattered kopjes create a dramatic backdrop where leopards roam free, offering one of Rajasthan’s most captivating wildlife experiences.

Travel by road to Jodhpur, the fabled Blue City of Rajasthan. In the afternoon, explore the mighty Mehrangarh Fort, a colossal red sandstone citadel rising dramatically above the skyline. Described by Rudyard Kipling as “the work of giants”, this fortress is among the best-preserved in India, filled with intricate courtyards, palaces, and breathtaking views. In the evening, wander through bustling local markets and browse an antiquities warehouse, soaking in the vibrant colors, scents, and textures of Jodhpur’s rich heritage.

After a short road transfer to Mathania, reunite with your Marwari horses for a full day’s ride towards Osian. The trail winds through small hamlets and rural farmsteads, offering an authentic glimpse of desert life. As we approach the edge of the Great Thar Desert, enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the vast, golden landscape. Pause midday for a picnic lunch and rest before continuing through the afternoon sun to reach our tented camp on the outskirts of Osian, where the desert’s beauty unfolds under a star-filled sky.

Set out on a full day’s ride from Osian to Hacra, journeying deeper into the sand and rolling dunes of the Thar Desert. Pass by thatched-roof huts and the sparse beauty of acacia trees and desert scrub. Along the way, watch for wild Nilgai (Asian antelope), graceful chinkara gazelles, curious mongooses, and other wildlife unique to this desert ecosystem. By evening, arrive at your tented camp near Hacra, surrounded by the stillness and vastness of the desert night.

Travel north from Hacra to Cullu on a route where the sand grows deeper with every mile. Your Marwari horses, bred for endurance and desert mastery, carry you confidently through this challenging terrain. This is the heart of the Marwar district, the ancestral land that gave these magnificent horses their name—a rare privilege to ride them where their lineage began. Spend the night in a tented camp, embraced by the silence of the desert.

On our final day in the saddle, ride from Cullu to Khichan, a village famed for its winter migration of Demoiselle cranes. These elegant birds arrive from the Mongolian steppes, and in peak season their numbers soar beyond 10,000, filling the skies in a spectacular display. Upon arrival, bid a heartfelt farewell to your Marwari horses, who return home for a well-earned rest after carrying you across Rajasthan’s diverse and beautiful landscapes.

Take an early morning drive to Jaipur (approx. 3 hours), arriving in time for lunch and some last-minute shopping in the Pink City’s bustling bazaars. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your onward journey, carrying home unforgettable memories of Rajasthan’s landscapes, wildlife, and cultural treasures.
