Black Sand and Tölt Holiday

Since we are staying at Hotel Geysir, we can explore the hot spring area without the crowds—ideal for early mornings or evenings. This morning, we’ll start with a drive to Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall, arriving before the tourists.

After spending some time there, our next stop is a horse farm for a private ride through Haukadalur forest and across scenic rivers and fields. You’ll experience a truly nature-focused ride, including river crossings and deep immersion in Icelandic landscapes. The ride lasts about 3 hours, after which we’ll take a short drive to one of Iceland’s oldest geothermal pools, the Secret Lagoon, to relax and soothe our muscles before returning to the hotel.

After a hearty breakfast, we check out and bid farewell to Hotel Geysir. Today’s adventure takes us along the South Coast, starting with the spectacular Skógafoss waterfall, followed by a visit to Dyrhólaey bird sanctuary, where we might spot puffins, and the charming village of Vík, where we stop for lunch.

On our way back, we visit a horse farm for a ride to the Black Beach. Our journey begins at the farm and heads south toward the ocean, crossing rivers and fields along the way until we reach the stunning Black Beach and the expansive Atlantic Ocean. If we’re lucky, we might even catch a seal popping up to say hello! There’s also an opportunity to canter along the soft black sand before returning to the farm.

After the ride, we visit Seljalandsfoss waterfall, enjoying it without the crowds and taking a walk behind the cascading water. From there, it’s a short drive to our hotel, where we’ll spend the night.

Horseback riding: Approximately 3 hours.

After breakfast, we check out and head to our final farm for a scenic 3-hour ride along the banks of the Rangá River. This stunning journey follows the tranquil river, crossing several small streams that flow into it, while riding through lush meadows and past an ancient lava field. Once the ride is complete, we drive back to Reykjavik, stopping along the way to enjoy one last relaxing soak at the famous Sky Lagoon, where the sea meets the sky.

The tour concludes with your drop-off at your hotel in Reykjavik.
