This program is a must for everyone who wants to learn the correct way of riding and handling horses, or upgrade their riding skills, and build confidence.

Riding takes place as a morning and an afternoon session. We teach how to prepare the horse for riding - grooming, foot care, tacking up; how to lunge your horse, untack, wash off and turn the horse out into the paddock.

The lessons take place in either our smaller indoor arena - perfect for beginners, novice and more timid riders to start in a closed and very controlled environment.
The lessons are 1 - 1 and the focus is entirely on the single rider.

Or in our large outdoor arena - perfect for more experienced and confident riders. The arena is great for practising dressage, riding polework, and for jumping.
Maximum 2 riders per session.

Joining this program we will discuss each individuals experience, their hopes for the week with us, and their future ambitions as a rider.

The program is bespoke - especially for each individual.

I am a qualified British Horse Society riding instructor and owned and managed a busy equestrian centre in the South of England, for 25 years, with my husband Johnny - a professional show jumping rider. We had 70 horses, more than 200 riders of all levels training with us. Johnny has jumped Internationally and represented GB on teams in Europe. Our training centre specialised in show jumping training, and I coached the regional Pony Club team to be National Champions in 2000. In 2005 we moved to SW France, near Bordeaux. We have downsized our business and now offer bespoke horse riding for individuals and small groups in this beautiful part of France. Bringing our skill and experience we have a select group of lovely horses for our guests to ride in lessons. All levels of rider are welcome, we offer individual training sessions both mounted and on the ground. Riders are taught to handle the horses, grooming, tacking up and even lunging their horse before the ridden session. We offer all in accommodation in our on site modern house. Excellent fresh local produce is used in the cooking of the meals, and of course a great choice of wine! We can help with any extra requests - local Chateaux tours, wine tasting and suggestions for local restaurants.

This was my 4th visit, and once again, the teaching was outstanding with incredible horses. If you want to improve your riding skills with well-trained horses, this is the place for you. Already planning my next visit for next year!

Jackie welcomed my son and me for a week of riding lessons and exploration. She tailored five days of valuable teaching based on my abilities and goals. Her horses are exceptional teachers too. The accommodations were superb, and the food was amazing. Jackie also provided great recommendations for local outings. I'm already planning to return with my daughter, who will surely love the lessons too.

    about provider
Becoming a regular visitor has been incredibly rewarding. Jackie and Johnny truly take the time to understand each individual, making the learning experience fulfilling and personalized. Their carefully selected schoolmaster horses provide confidence and fun for riders of all levels. The beautiful surroundings, delicious food, and relaxing accommodation add to the charm of the experience. I trusted this place to find me a younger horse as my current one approaches retirement, and they've exceeded my expectations, guiding me seamlessly into the next stage of my riding journey.
