!! PLEASE NOTE!! This tour is operated from mid of June till end of September, from Thursday to Saturday. In case you have your own group of 4-5 persons, upon request we can see if other days are available.

Route details

!! You have to be at our camp before 10:00 am! The programme starts at 10:00 am!!

Upon arriving at the farm, you will be greeted with warm hospitality in the tranquil beauty of Lapland. The day kicks off with an introduction to the farm and its horses, providing you with a chance to connect with the animals and preview your upcoming riding adventure. Following this introduction, you’ll hop on your horse for a brief familiarization ride, allowing you to acclimate to both the horses and the stunning landscapes around you. After returning from your ride, we will gather for lunch.

In the afternoon, we will retreat to charming wilderness cabins tucked away in the forest. The cabins feature expansive windows and skylights that frame breathtaking views of the Lapland sky.

As evening falls, we will savor a delightful dinner showcasing local specialties, followed by a soothing sauna experience amidst the tranquility of nature.

You will spend 2 nights in the Aurora wilderness cabins.

Each cabin features an eco-friendly toilet, a compact sink with a water tank for handwashing, and a pellet stove for heating. Additionally, a USB socket powered by a small generator is available for charging your devices. Please note that the cabins do not have electricity.

Meals are provided in the nearby "Metsola" wooden house, where breakfast and dinner are served. A traditional Finnish wood-heated sauna is also located near the cabins.

riding shoes / hiking shoes, preferably waterproof;
camp shoes, e.g. crocs;
suitable riding clothing (trousers, chaps, waterproof riding jacket);
at least two pairs of riding gloves;
outdoor clothing (preferably wind- and waterproof);
warm fleece shirt, woolen pullover;
set of extra clothing;
thermal underwear / long johns;
swimming suit, towels;

Just returned from our fantastic trip. My daughter and I went horseback riding guided by the wonderful Janka. Janka is exceptional and made us feel incredibly welcome. She was attentive, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable! We had a fantastic ride, so much so that my daughter went back two days later. (I'm a bit rusty after not riding for 4 years, so I was only comfortable with a fast trot.) Janka took my daughter on a more advanced ride, and the smile on her face when she returned was priceless. THANK YOU, Janka. We highly recommend it for an amazing horseback riding experience. We're already planning to visit again just to come here. The horses are absolutely gorgeous!!! Next time, I'll be sure to take a few lessons to regain more comfort in the saddle. This is truly the best place for horseback riding. Thanks again!

We enjoyed a delightful horse riding tour in the snowy forest. It was absolutely wonderful, and the lady guiding us was incredibly kind. Just a heads-up, make sure to bundle up well—I ended up with sore feet afterwards! Despite that, it was still a fantastic experience.

A 5-day horse trekking adventure around Pöyrisjärvi left a lasting impression and is an experience I'll cherish forever. The horses were incredible, and we had the opportunity to gallop on soft sand and swim with them in a lake. The diverse scenery and drinking from the rivers and creeks deepened my profound appreciation for Finnish nature. Our guide, Tanja, was exceptionally attentive, and her smile and laughter were true highlights of the trip. Everything went smoothly (thanks also to Juha) and we felt like a cohesive group trekking together, not just tourists. A big thank you to Päivi for organizing these unforgettable experiences for us to enjoy!
