Ride and Relax Hacienda Tour

After an exclusive breakfast together and an initial assessment ride in the paddock, you get assigned your horse. Then we start a panoramic ride with incredibly beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and the mountains. The hacienda is located at about 750 m above sea level, with the Pacific Ocean in front of us and the cloud forest behind. After this ride we take the horses to the river where they can cool off.

Riding: 3-6 hours.

A day as a cowboy by riding around the hacienda with knowledgeable guides who explain the cattle driving processes. During the ride, the cows and calves are inspected for injuries, and newborns are examined. In some cases, the guides may need to help with birthing calves, depending on the season and circumstances.

Today we also do some cattle work. The tasks involved depend on the season and may include vaccinating, pregnancy testing, branding, separating young cattle from their mothers or moving them to different pastures. Each day brings new and different tasks to be done.

We ride to the hacienda's own waterfall. Some climbing is announced today after a nice ride over our hacienda and through grazing herds of cattle we reach the mountain river Zamora. We hike or climb up the river and 20 min later we reach the waterfall with a very nice pool. Here we can swim undisturbed and enjoy our packed lunch. We return to the hacienda in the afternoon.

Today is a day off where you can choose to take a leisurely stroll or unwind by the pool. Additionally, you may have the option to visit the beach (with payment for transportation required on site).

Today involves herding cattle from one pasture to another at a steady and controlled pace. This is necessary as part of the route includes a public gravel road where it's important to prevent the cattle from speeding up.

Embark on the Path of Orchids and venture into the cloud forest, where you encounter an array of unique plant and animal species - keep your eyes peeled for the elusive Quetzel, known as God's bird. Gallop through lush meadows and immerse yourself in a fairytale-like jungle filled with diverse flora and fauna, including coyotes, coatis, possums and deer who are unaccustomed to being hunted and therefore less timid.

We take a trip to a gold ore processing facility to gain knowledge on the process of mining and refining gold. The Monte de Oro mountains, which are still being explored for gold, are located in the area. Although prospecting is difficult and uncertain, you will be briefed on the practice and may even discover a tiny nugget. Finally, cool off with a dip in the waterfall.

After breakfast you return to the airport for your flight home.
