Extreme Riding

8 am: The first day of this journey begins with boarding a 4x4 at the lodges, taking participants to the edge of the National Park’s pristine area. The anticipation increases as we approach the meeting point with the horses, where the true heart of the expedition is revealed.

9 am: The horseback ride begins, surrounded by seemingly endless white sand dunes, interspersed with giant lagoons with clear waters that reflect the sky. The surrounding landscapes are breathtaking, and soon the opportunity arises to stop and take a dip in the first lagoons, appreciating the stillness and purity of the untouched nature.

12 pm: We arrive at the Oásis da Baixa Grande, where the warm welcome of Dona Dete and Senhor Moacir awaits us. Lunch is a traditional feast of free-range chicken in coconut milk, served in a simple but authentic setting. After lunch, visitors can relax in hammocks under the shade of leafy trees or enjoy a swim in the nearby river, cooling off before the second leg of the ride.

3:00 pm: The afternoon journey takes us to the oasis of Queimada dos Britos, a fascinating region marked by an exciting crossing of the Rio Negro (depending on the time of year, this crossing can be challenging and, on some days, impossible on horseback). On the way, we stop at Lagoa Bico do Piador for a relaxing swim and, as the sun begins to set, the ride takes on epic proportions. The dunes turn orange and pink, creating a natural spectacle that can only be appreciated on a sunset ride.

6:30 pm: As night falls, we arrive at Mr. Mazur's house, where comfortable chalets built of straw and wood are available. Each chalet has a private bathroom, fan and comfortable beds, providing a well-deserved night's rest after the first day of the expedition.

8:00 pm: The evening is crowned with a traditional dinner at the home of Dona Rosa and Senhor Netão, just a few meters from the chalets. Traditional dishes such as boiled fish and goat in coconut milk are served, accompanied by tastings of Tiquira, the famous distilled cassava drink. After dinner, a walk under the starry sky of the oasis offers a unique opportunity to contemplate the Milky Way in all its splendor. The evening ends in the cozy chalets, with the serenity of Queimada dos Britos.
