Ride and Ski in Bosnia

Following breakfast, there will be an opportunity to become acquainted with the horses, and the riding abilities of the group will be assessed. Afterwards, we will prepare to embark on a gentle morning ride lasting approximately two hours. The primary objective of this initial ride is to become familiar with the horse which you will be spending your unforgettable week with.

Following the ride, we will return to the farm for lunch and then proceed for a guided walking tour in Sarajevo for two hours, where we will learn about the city's fascinating history.

Riding: 2 hours

To fully immerse yourself in the beauty and adventure of winter in Bosnia, join us for a day of snow riding through dense forests and open meadows in the vicinity of our equestrian center. Our well-trained horses and warm blankets will keep you comfortable throughout the day. During January, the snow in the forests is untouched, as there are no forestry or farming activities, and the hiking trails are also unused during that period.

As we embark on our long ride, we'll provide a prepared picnic with a campfire in a small wooden shed that has been built for winter riding experiences. You'll have the opportunity to savor the flavors of the region while enjoying the warmth of the fire and the company of your fellow riders. After returning to the horse farm, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch and prepare for night skiing on the Olympic mountain Jahorina.

As we glide down the slopes under the stars, you'll feel the rush of adrenaline and the thrill of winter sports. Upon our return, we'll look forward to a light dinner and a glass of mulled wine by the fireplace in the warmth of the living room above the horse stalls. You'll leave with memories that will last a lifetime and a deep appreciation for the beauty and adventure of winter in Bosnia.

Riding: 4-5 hours

Skiing: 2 hours

Most of our riders will be experiencing a new activity today. Bosnian horse breeds, which make up the majority of our riding programs, have a natural inclination towards forest work, such as pulling logs and carriages. This is why we decided to offer ski joering as an activity, which many of our riders have embraced easily.

We provide ski joering (skijoring) training in a riding area with obstacles to prepare riders for a forest trip. So, put on your skis, attach the harness to your horse and have fun! For riders who are not fond of ski joering, they can still have fun riding on the snowy trails and glades around the farm.

After lunch, we will drive to the Olympic Mountain Jahorina, where we will spend half a day skiing. Jahorina has a well-balanced mix of blue, red, and black runs, including a newly-built beginners' area and slopes that were used during the competitive women’s events at the 1984 Winter Olympics.

Riding/skijoring: 3-4 hours

Skiing: 3 hours

We will continue the ski joering challenge and explore more trails leading to the peaks of Bjelašnica, with our horses and riders well-rested. Those who prefer riding will accompany the group on horseback. After half a day of skiing or ski joering, we will prepare for an afternoon of skiing on Bjelašnica.

The mountain hosted competitions in alpine skiing disciplines for men during the 14th Sarajevo Olympic Winter Games in 1984, featuring downhill, slalom, and giant slalom tracks. In the past, the mountain was known for harsh winters and remote villages visited only by seasoned hikers, hunters, and adventurers. We will then head back to our home away from home at the ranch, feeling tired and content after an eventful day.

Riding/skijoring: 3 hours

We will ride at a leisurely pace towards the campsite we've set up in the dense forest, after several days of riding. Once we reach the campfire, we'll share stories of the past days and raise a glass of mulled wine to future joint riding adventures. The most exciting part of this riding program is yet to come; a visit to a local 5-star resort will help soothe our tired muscles after the trip. We can take pleasure in the calming scents of the saunas, the warm water in the heated pool, and the serene touch of an experienced masseuse.

Riding: 3-4 hours

After breakfast, you can say goodbye to the horses before being transferred to the airport or your accommodation in Sarajevo.
