Route details
The day starts with a meeting at the horse stable near the village of Asim Zeneli, a short drive from the city. Guests meet the horses, guides, and learn the riding rules.
After a quick introduction and warm-up, the ride begins. You can lead your horse at first or start riding right away. The trail takes you through scenic paths to a nearby valley.
Once in the valley, enjoy a calm ride through hills and beautiful landscapes.
Then, take a short break by Qestorati Lake, a historic irrigation site.
The ride continues downhill. Travelers cross a small river where the horses often stop to drink.
Finally, you ride across open fields near the village of Krinë. Sometimes, friendly shepherd dogs join the ride.
The tour ends back at the stable, with great views to remember and wonderful memories of countryside life.

My 14-year-old daughter and I embarked on the one-week Zagoria trail in November. It was a week filled with joy as we cherished every minute, thanks to the breathtaking views, reliable and sturdy horses, delightful cuisine, and hospitable families we stayed with.
