The Hand of Fatima

Drive to the horse riding center located in Bubión, which is only 2 kilometers away from Capileira. We will begin by introducing the horses. Our journey will primarily follow bridle paths, starting with a climb and then descending towards the village of Pórtugos. From there, we will take a track that will eventually lead us to Trevélez, where we will enjoy our lunch. 

Along the way, we will pass through an oak forest and descend to Trevélez using a bridle path. Throughout the ride, there will be opportunities for gallops. Trevélez, renowned for its hams, holds the distinction of being the highest village in Spain at an elevation of 1,700 meters. We will have lunch at the Mesón del Jamón and there will also be a chance to visit some of the ham drying houses. In the evening, dinner will be served at the hotel.

Overnight: Hotel La Fragua

After we cross the bridge that spans the river, our journey will start on a bridle path that ascends the left side of the ravine, leaving behind the village that lends its name to this route. We will then descend towards Los Berchules along a track, once again being able to appreciate the stunning beauty of the Sierra Contraviesa and Sierra Gádor, this time in the province of Almería. On a clear day, we will be treated to a view of the Mediterranean Sea and the majestic outline of the African mountains directly in front of us. 

We will make a stop in Juviles for lunch before continuing our horseback adventure to Los Berchules along another bridle path. In the evening, we will enjoy a delicious dinner at a cozy, family-operated hotel that offers exceptional comfort. Additionally, there is an option to indulge in spa services for those interested.

Overnight: Hotel El Cercado

We will travel down from Los Bérchules to Narila, where we will take a break to water the horses and explore a breeding farm that specializes in P.R.E. (Spanish Pure Breed) horses. Continuing our journey, we will reach the village of Cádiar and make our way to the nearby hotel, where we will arrive just in time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will have the chance to visit the wine cellar and olive-oil mill at the Alquería, where we will be given an explanation of the wine and olive oil production process. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Overnight: Hotel Alquería de Morayma

After crossing the Guadalfeo River, we will follow the trail that will take us to Lobras, Nieles and Càstaras. Our journey will continue until we reach the breathtaking Las Carihuelas de Busquístar gorge, where we will descend to cross the Trevélez river. From there, we will follow the path that leads to the village of Busquístar, where we will have our lunch break. After lunch, we will ride until we reach Bubión. In the evening, we will enjoy dinner at the hotel in Capileira.

Overnight: Hotel Finca Los Llanos

After having breakfast, you will be taken to Granada where you can choose between visiting the Alhambra or taking a sightseeing tour of the l'Albaicín, the charming Arabic medieval quarter of Granada. Alternatively, you can opt to relax with a bath at the Arab Hamman. Previous reservation is required if you would like to visit the Alhambra, do the Albaicin guided tour or enjoy the Arab baths of the Hamman in Granada. Subject to availability.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Cordoba. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the Royal Stable and watch the impressive equestrian show called "Cordoba Ecuestre". Later, you will have dinner at a typical restaurant and then have free time to enjoy the May Fair of Cordoba.

Overnight: Hotel Selu

Following breakfast, we will proceed to the Mosque of Cordoba. Afterwards, we will be transferred to Palma del Río, which will take approximately 30 minutes. We will have lunch in the village and then enjoy a horse ride with Spanish Pure Breed horses at the La Herradura riding center. To conclude our day, we will have a farewell dinner at a restaurant located in the old part of Palma del Río.

Overnight: Hotel Monasterio de San Francisco

Following breakfast, we will travel to the Riding Center of La Herradura, which is approximately 3 kilometers away. At the center, we will have the option to participate in a unique 1-hour lesson of Spanish Western Dressage known as "Doma Vaquera", or alternatively, go for a ride around the area. After enjoying a light snack, we will then proceed to the Granada airport for our departure.
