Wilderness Trail

Your day begins with a hearty breakfast in our cozy log cabin, preparing you for the adventure ahead. Today’s first ride is all about getting acquainted with your horse, the equipment, and our unique riding style. After a brief introduction to safety and techniques, we saddle up and set off on a scenic journey.

Winding through hidden forest paths, we make our way into the valley, following a charming trail that takes us across gentle streams. Here, you'll have the chance to enjoy a brief test gallop along our first route.

We pause atop a small peak at 1,400 meters, where a breathtaking view of the Gheorgheni Valley awaits. After soaking in the scenery, we gallop back towards the farm, eventually slowing the pace as we pass our neighbor’s herd of buffalo, weaving gracefully through them.

The final stretch involves leading the horses down a steep incline back to the Ranch. Once the horses are tended to, you can relax and savor coffee and cake in the dining room.

As evening falls, we gather for a delicious dinner, reflecting on the day’s highlights and discussing what’s to come on this incredible journey. To top it all off, the sauna and hot pot are ready for you to unwind and pamper yourself—perfect preparation for the muscle-testing adventures ahead.

Riding Time: Approximately 4 hours, including 20 minutes on foot.

After waking to the crisp morning air, we enjoy breakfast by the fire before preparing for a full day of adventure. With our tents packed and the packhorse loaded, we set off across the sweeping expanse of the "White Meadow."

This serene plateau is home to shepherds and their animals during the summer months, and if we’re lucky, we might encounter one of the free-roaming herds of wild horses that thrive here in the warmer seasons. The soft, open grass beckons us for a lively gallop—an exhilarating start to the day.

Next, we descend steeply into the valley, leading the horses carefully along challenging sections. At the bottom, we climb again, passing through tranquil woodlands where we’ll visit a bear orphanage—a special place hidden in the forest.

Continuing on hidden trails, we reach the flatlands of “Log Nyereg,” where another long and thrilling gallop through the woods awaits. The rhythmic pounding of hooves through the forest is an unforgettable highlight.

By evening, we arrive at the plateau of “Fekete Rez,” our camp for the night. Here, we pitch our tents next to a dairy farm, where shepherds milk their animals by hand. We’ll visit them to witness this traditional craft and, of course, taste their handmade cheese—a true local delicacy.

As the stars begin to shine, we gather around for another memorable evening, reflecting on the day’s adventures and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

Riding Time: Approximately 7 hours, including 1 hour on foot.

The final leg of our adventure begins with breakfast at the campsite, fueling us for the journey back to the Ranch.

We start by riding through dense spruce forests, where, if luck is on our side, we might catch a glimpse of bears in their natural habitat. Our route takes us to the summit of “Big Sipos” (1,568 m), where we pause to admire the breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

From there, we wind our way back to the ranch, mostly riding through serene forest trails. Along the way, there are opportunities for an energizing canter, adding a touch of thrill to the return journey. Passing the source of the “Olt” River, we finally arrive at the Ranch, where a warm welcome awaits.

Our cook, Brigitta, greets us with her famous fresh cake and homemade blueberry liqueur—a perfect treat after three days in the wilderness. A hot shower provides a well-deserved dose of comfort before we gather for a celebratory dinner.

To cap off the adventure, the sauna and hot pot are ready for anyone looking to pamper their muscles and relax after an unforgettable journey.

If you want, you can book an additional day on the farm and relax to your heart’s content today. Sauna, hot pot, sleep in, just enjoy the atmosphere at the trail riding farm.

For everyone else it’s time to say goodbye today. After breakfast, our off-road vehicle will take you safely back into the valley to Gheorgheni, from where you will begin your individual journey home.
