In northern Mongolia, close to the Russian border, you'll find the Taiga - a vast expanse of boreal forests primarily made up of larch trees, alongside open valleys that resemble polar tundra. This area is part of the Siberian permafrost ecosystem, setting it apart from Mongolia’s grasslands. Its remoteness and difficult accessibility make it one of the most pristine and sparsely populated regions in the country. The culture of the Tsaatan reindeer herders is equally remarkable; this small community of just a few hundred individuals lives in teepees and migrates seasonally with their reindeer. Here, you can meet authentic shamans, sample reindeer milk, and enjoy a ride on a reindeer. Experience leisurely trekking through the untouched wilderness of the Khoridol Saridag Mountains, and wrap up your tour with a visit to the breathtaking Khuvsgul Lake.
