What should I bring?
We recommend wearing the following:
- sturdy shoes, good sneakers or hiking boots that are not very broad
- comfortable pants (riding breeches / tights are not necessary)
- weatherproof clothing
- gloves
- a thin hat under the helmet / a buff
Bring a small waist bag for personal items like cameras, as riding with a backpack is not allowed.

There were numerous horse riding options available in Iceland, making it a tough decision to choose one. However, the four of us who decided on the trail ride with this team were VERY satisfied with our choice. Our guide, Ana, was not only well-versed in horse care and Icelandic knowledge but also very pleasant to converse with. She went out of her way to ensure our safety and comfort while ensuring we had a fantastic experience. The horses were gentle and affectionate, and we even made a few stops for group photos. We got 3 hours riding tours over the Fjords with no riding skills at all (never been on horse before). But we had a perfect guide and did the ride without any obstacle at all. This has been the most incredible experience in Iceland to date. We had NO prior riding experience. Thanks to our excellent guide, we were able to navigate the tour without any difficulties. I highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting northern Iceland. It was truly the BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!
