The "Sidekick" package offers two half-day horseback trips along with a full day for leisure activities.

On the first day, you will enjoy a three-hour horseback ride that concludes at the Eco-Lodge, and on the final day, you will join another three-hour ride back. In between, you have the entire day to unwind—consider taking a canoe trip or trying your hand at fishing in one of the nearby fishing spots.

Jean is also the mastermind behind the cartoon character Fergus the Horse, who captivates over 300,000 followers on social media, and she has authored and illustrated four books featuring Fergus.

Jocelyn grew up around horses and began her competitive riding career in childhood. She earned an Instructors Certificate from Ontario Equestrian and has established herself as a knowledgeable and supportive riding instructor for students of all ages. Jocelyn has competed in a wide range of disciplines, including western pleasure, equitation, showmanship, western games, jumping, eventing, dressage, Prince Philip Games, Le Trek, endurance, and competitive trail riding. Notably, she had the opportunity to represent Canada as a member of the 2016 Open Worlds Team Championships.

Join us at the horse stables at 1:00 p.m.

Get ready to saddle up, get lessons (if needed), and enjoy a brief overview of the trip.

We will take on a ride through the heart of Algonquin Park's forests, concluding our day at the Algonquin Eco-Lodge. Dinner will be served right there, followed by a cozy bonfire.

Nestled deep within the untouched forests of Algonquin Park, our Eco-Lodge offers a stunningly secluded escape, far from the reach of hydro lines and telephone poles. 

With the charm and ambiance reminiscent of a European mountain lodge, it stands as one of the most isolated accommodations in the region. Featuring 17 private bedrooms, the lodge can comfortably accommodate up to 34 guests. Each bedroom is simple yet inviting, ensuring a cozy retreat in nature.

Algonquin Eco-Lodge

The eco-lodge offers no TV, phone, or coffee machine, but features electric lighting and comfortable custom beds (doubles and singles). Shared women's and men's bathrooms and showers are available. Off-grid yet fully equipped with micro-hydro electricity from the nearby waterfall, the lodge provides modern comforts like indoor plumbing, hot showers, an outdoor wood-fired sauna, and a carbon-neutral hot tub – the only one in Southern Ontario.

Enjoy quality time with family, play board games, or join other guests around the campfire. Leave your devices behind and bring that book you have wanted to read. 

With extensive trails, a private 30-acre lake, and a resident wolf pack, your stay at the eco-lodge promises a memorable experience and a unique way to explore Algonquin Park.
