Glamping in the Andes: Riding Holidays

We use qualified personnel with WFR (Wilderness First Responder) and first aid training. We only work with experienced guides with a great knowledge of the area. Our guides are very passionate about the area we travel in. They will always be one step ahead and will provide help and assistance in any unforeseen situation. Our guides are bilingual and knowledgeable about the region, the people and their culture. The Gauchos will always be there to help you saddle up, prepare the horses and adjust saddles and take care of your safety in general.

Our qualified staff is provided with safety equipment. During the trip, due to the isolated places where we travel, we carry a satellite phone in case of an emergency. As a company we have an adventure tourism insurance, although it is mandatory that you bring your own travel medical insurance. 

The cuisine on the trip will be a special blend of flavors and ingredients consisting of an ethnic variety of Patagonian Creole gastronomy. A traditional wood stove in our lodge will give a special flavor to the dishes. If it is the right season, you will be able to taste the delicious rainbow trout.
The asado criollo could be served in several meals. It consists of delicious lamb or beef roasted on embers and firewood. As a typical main dish, it is cooked in different ways, usually accompanied with salad, potatoes and, of course, red wine. Our Lunch boxes for riding days are made up of sandwiches, juice, fruit, chocolate bars and/or cereals. They are prepared every morning and each rider carries them in their saddlebags. Vegetables and fruits are excellent and very varied. Vegetarian dishes are a delicious option, but we need to know if you prefer vegetarian options when you make your reservation.

Our horses are well cared for and trained so that you can spend pleasant moments with this noble animal. We raise our own foals, looking for resistance and adaptation to our mountain range. They are mainly crosses between criollos from the area on the part of the mares and on the part of the stallion we work with quarter-mile race blood or PSC.

The weather in the vicinity of the Andes can be unpredictable and very variable so you should be prepared for anything.
While towards the Steppe we find semi-arid terrain, very prone to strong winds, inside the Cordillera there is more vegetation and native forests. During our journey on horseback, we have to be prepared to endure heat, cold, wind and rain. The temperature throughout the ride can range from -3 to +30 degrees Celsius. 

From mid-December to the end of January, an annoying but not harmful insect called "horsefly" appears in our South. They are very attracted to dark colored clothing such as blue or black and less attracted to light colored clothing such as white or yellow. Please take this into consideration when choosing your clothing for the trip.
When horseflies disappear, yellow jackets appear (to a lesser extent). If you are allergic to wasp stings, we suggest that you bring your medicines and also that you inform us so that we have the opportunity to act in case of any emergency and to bring medicines for prevention.

In South America it is customary to tip if you are satisfied with the service. This is common in restaurants, for luggage handlers in hotels and airports etc.
The tip is not the salary of the service providers, it is an acknowledgement for the service provided. We provide details to our clients on this item in the trip briefing. Consider bringing local money. As a reference we consider approx. 10 US$ per day and rider to be distributed among the team of team, assistants and guides. It will be distributed at each farewell. All these values are estimates depending on the willingness of the passengers.
It is important to take into account that once the ride begins and until it ends, you will not have access to any foreign currency exchange office.

We also offer trekking by tracks that take us to different scenarios, lagoons and viewpoints of the Precordillera. You can also try fishing "criollo" with a can.
