Around the Traslasierra Valley

We start the day with a fabulous breakfast at the Estancia and then meet the horses. It is important to find the right horse for every rider since it will be your companion during your stay, so trust and empathy between rider and horse are essential. 

Your guides introduce you to our Peruvian Pasos and their special gait, the Paso llano and give you all the necessary details on the riding techniques. You try different horses and choose the one you are most comfortable with.

After lunch at the Estancia, we ride along small rivers and pass by typical country and farm houses until we reach a small village, Los Algarrobos, where we visit the chapel “Nuestra Señora de Fátima”. We rest beside the chapel and then take a different trail back to the Estancia and discover more of this marvelous region whose inhabitants still hold on to their traditions. 

Today we ride to a remote house in the mountain chain Altas Cumbres, where the Mercado family lives. This is an exciting trail that you can solely walk or ride. 

We pass a place called “Huaico”, where we find a micro climate with spectacular vegetation. When we arrive at our destination, we have the possibility to ask the family about their lifestyle and their sheep and goat farm. 

We ride back to the Estancia where we can relax or enjoy some indoor or outdoor activities until we have dinner.

Today we ride up the mountains to the Mogote, a place with fantastic views over the mountains and valleys. 

We start at the Estancia and stop for a break at the multifaceted Rocsen museum, you can enter for a visit if you wish so. 

Afterwards, we start the adventure and ride up into the mountains on trails, we cross small rivers and canyons on the way. When we reach the top, the logistics team has already prepared asado that we enjoy outside while we have a fantastic view over the Traslasierra Valley. 

Later, we ride back to the Estancia.

We ride along the meadows beside the La Viña dike where we observe grazing animals, we boarder the Los Sauces river and reach the town named Cura Brochero where we stop for a rest.

We continue our magnificent ride until we reach Panaholma where we leave the horses at a friends’ house. 

The logistics team takes us back to the Estancia (30 min drive). We have dinner at the Estancia and go to rest.

We drive back to Panaholma and start the trail up into the mountains where we arrive at about 2 p. m. 

Our logistics team prepares a delicious picnic for us. Afterwards, we help the gauchos to take part in the different daily tasks with the cattle.

We go to rest in cabins after an exciting day where we shared time with real gauchos!

At the cattle farm Taruca Pampa we enjoy breakfast and then have the opportunity to share more time with the gauchos and learn how to wrangle the cows and lead them to different meadow grounds. 

At midday we stop for a break and have a picnic before we ride through remote areas, virgin landscapes, impressive canyons and cross crystal clear rivers. 

Finally, we reach a tiny mountain village, San Jeronimo, with few houses, a chapel and meet the inhabitants who welcome us with their friendly hospitality. 

We leave the horses and logistics team brings us back to the Estancia (1 hour drive).

We have breakfast at the estancia and then our logistics team drives you to the airport in Cordoba city.
