The first time you understand a horse without words, something changes. This riding program in Southern Albania is made for beginners who want to learn properly, not just sit in the saddle for a photo. From the old stone streets of Gjirokastra to the quiet village of Asim Zeneli, the week takes you step by step into the world of horses, with patient guidance, real practice, and time to build confidence.

You will meet the horse chosen for you, learn how to groom, lead, saddle, and understand it from the ground, then slowly bring those skills into the arena and out into nature. The program moves from balance and basic control to your first rides on uphill and downhill paths, group riding, trotting practice, and longer countryside trails. By the end of the week, you ride through open landscapes, handle simple trail situations, and stop at Qestorati Lake as part of your final celebration ride.

You stay in a hotel in the Old Town of Gjirokastra at the beginning and end of the tour, and in a village guesthouse during the riding days, with meals, English-speaking instructors, guides, and luggage transport included. Join this journey and learn to ride where horses, village life, and Albanian landscapes become part of the same rhythm!

I was born in Albania and now am a journalist with a unique background in history and archaeology. My deep affinity for horses goes beyond a mere interest, it is a lifelong passion that has become a driving force in my endeavors. Recognizing the potential of Albania`s cultural and natural treasures, I have committed myself to building some of the finest horse holidays in the country. My vision extends beyond tourism, emphasizing the importance of partnerships with horses, the preservation of nature, and support for local communities. I believe a horse represents more than a companion on the trails it symbolizes a partnership rooted in mutual respect and understanding. I stand at the intersection of passion, profession, and purpose, weaving together a narrative that celebrates the rich tapestry of Albania`s history, culture, and natural beauty while championing the symbiotic relationship between humans and horses. My story is one of dedication to sustainable practices, community empowerment, and the enduring connection between people, horses, and the environment.

My 14-year-old daughter and I embarked on the one-week Zagoria trail in November. It was a week filled with joy as we cherished every minute, thanks to the breathtaking views, reliable and sturdy horses, delightful cuisine, and hospitable families we stayed with. Most importantly, I truly valued the friendly approach towards the youngest rider in our group, my daughter. Thanks to the Caravan Horse Riding Albania team's kindness and professionalism, it became an unforgettable experience.
