The road to Gjirokastra already feels like a step into another Albania: stone roofs, mountain air, old streets, and horses waiting beyond the town. This riding program is made for riders who are no longer beginners, but still want time, guidance, and real practice before taking on more demanding trails.
The week begins with a careful riding assessment, horse allocation, and practical feedback from English-speaking instructors. From Asim Zeneli, the route leads through Libohove, Karjan, and back across varied terrain, with long trail rides, picnic lunches, village stops, and daily horse care. You will work on balance, trot rhythm, riding position, independent decisions on the trail, and calm communication with your horse. The final ride brings you to Spilea Monastery, with a climb to the monastery, the Church of St. Nicholas with its 1634 frescoes, and the hermit cave.
Nights are spent in a traditional hotel in Gjirokastra and village guesthouses along the route. Meals are included, and luggage is transported by car. Join this tour if you want to grow as a rider, gain confidence outdoors, and experience Albania from the saddle!
